The globe a product with users everywhere puts on its front page: a blue spike wherever someone is sending right now, rising and sinking as the moment passes, and a pink arc for every message on its way, drawing in, holding, erasing from its tail and landing with a ring where it was read. Twelve thousand dots on a lit indigo sphere (distribution="uniform" cols="360" distance="8.8" on mappo's own Natural Earth mask), the lights three CSS gradients, the lines mappo/links on a second, empty globe over them, so they stay unlit. The feed is synthetic: two hundred and sixty messages between a hundred and sixty cities, weighted the way people are, so Asia and Africa carry most of it and the lower half of the sphere is as awake as the upper.

The opening view depends on your clock: the globe starts turned toward your part of the world. Drag to spin; the pointer feeds a velocity, not an angle. Drag up or down to lean within limits. Hover a line or a spike for its card; the globe slows to a stop while the card shows, and a line waits until you let it go. The flag at Reykjavík is the product's primary region.
